Our waterways and the land along them are teaming with life. They provide scenic recreation opportunities for hikers, paddlers, and anglers. They also provide habitat for an abundance of wildlife including rare species such as Blanding’s Turtles, Wood Turtles, and Bald Eagles.

These waterfront areas are uniquely special places. The land along rivers, streams, lakes, and ponds supports the greatest diversity of wildlife in New England – both aquatic and terrestrial – and plays an important role in maintaining clean water and controlling floods. If you own waterfront property, the decisions you make about your land carry impacts that ripple throughout the broader ecosystem. Join presenters Alex Krofta and Karl Honkonen to learn how the physical features of your land connect to these broader impacts and hear case studies that highlight beneficial ways to care for and enrich waterfront areas.
